ADHD & Feeling Anxious
ADHD & Feeling Anxious ….
A constant inner restlessness — because deep down, you don’t feel safe.
With ADHD, people often talk about a lack of dopamine.
Or being easily overstimulated in your mind.
But the real issue lies somewhere much deeper.
We struggle with ADHD-like symptoms because our central nervous system is stuck in survival mode. We spend our days in a state of hyper-alertness, because our nervous system believes there’s a threat — that we’re not safe.
That sense of unsafety is always there, so much so that we’ve become used to a constant undercurrent of inner tension. Until eventually, our system gets pushed beyond its limits.
I discovered this about six years ago.
The moment I chose to leave behind the security of my salaried career.
The moment I let go of the “safe” path and chose a life of freedom — a life aligned with what truly brings me joy.
And suddenly, my nervous system went into full-on survival mode.
My fear system completely shut me down.
It was then I realized: I needed help.
That was the moment my spiritual journey truly began — a deep inner path not to “find myself,” but simply to come out of survival. (That self-discovery was just a beautiful side effect.)
When I began that process, the first question my own coach asked me was: “Do you have ADHD or something?”
A label I never would’ve given myself.
But now I understand: the two go hand in hand — ADHD and a nervous system caught in survival.
I had always felt fundamentally unsafe. But now, I had pushed the system too far.
I see many posts online of people trying to manage symptoms.
But I was invited to look much deeper — to face the true cause behind my struggles.
Because there’s a reason why you have ADHD symptoms.
There’s a reason why your body stays in that survival state.
Your body learned somewhere along the way that daily life isn’t safe.
That sense of unsafety goes back much further than you think.
It often begins in the womb — an inherited nervous system imprint passed down from your mother and her ancestral line. A programming of unsafety you didn’t choose, but received.
The good news is: this programming can be undone. And that’s exactly what I now guide my clients through.
Because once you begin to uproot that deep sense of unsafety, your nervous system can finally discover:
It’s safe here. In this body. In this life.
And that’s where the real healing begins — not by treating symptoms, but by returning to the source.
